Yes, Century 21 stumbled to a 1-2 Phase 1 record. Doesn't matter here — they're still the reigning regular-season points champs, and the Raiders haven't shown me anything that says they can end that pedigree in an elimination game. Century 21 survives round one — and gets a rematch appointment with the Dawgs, who they just lost to 9-5 this weekend. Revenge game.

Markham Goodyear Rangers

The upset of the round. The season series says Braves 2-0, and normally I'd never fade that. But Rangers just got a college-caliber, 5-tool player back from being away, and it's not a coincidence that the moment he returned, they put up 21 runs and knocked off the Shamrocks — one of the best teams in this whole field. That's not a fluke stat line, that's a different team. Braves are walking into a buzzsaw they haven't scouted. I'll take the heat on this one.

Ace Pools are the defending charity tournament champions. This is a gap in class, not a coin flip.

Opal Electric Shamrocks

Shamrocks have been one of the two best teams in this tournament all year. Sox earned their spot; they don't survive it.

Derek Houghton Century 21

I almost had the Dawgs here off their 9-5 head-to-head win over Century 21 this weekend. But that win, and their whole Phase 1 run, came with real question marks about who's actually in their lineup — and word is they may be shorthanded again Sunday. I'm not building a pick on a roster that might not show up. Century 21's regular-season pedigree wins the tiebreak.

Markham Goodyear Rangers

The Beavers are the scariest team in the bracket right now — 28-2 over the Nads, 23-12 over the Classics, the only blemish a 9-10 nail-biter against the Braves. Rangers just eliminated the one team that had Beavers' number, so that particular kryptonite is off the board. Beavers roll.

Ace Pools Moose

The real Game of the Weekend, and I want to show my work instead of just leaning on the trophy case: full season, Shamrocks are 20-6-4, Ace Pools are 20-8-2 — a slight points edge to Shamrocks, so don't let anyone tell you this is a mismatch. But head-to-head this year they're dead even at 1-1-1, and Ace Pools actually hold the cumulative run edge in that series (+6 across three meetings). Then look at this specific weekend: Ace Pools are the only unbeaten team left in the field, 2-0-1 in Phase 1, while Shamrocks already dropped a game to the Rangers. Add in that Ace Pools have already closed out a title this year — beating the Beavers to do it — and I've got three separate threads all pointing the same direction. Not bias, just where the evidence lands.

McCalmont Financial Beavers

Beavers hold the slim season edge here (1-1, +11 run differential) and they're the hottest team in the building. Century 21's pedigree is real, but it doesn't beat a team playing this well right now.

If the bracket breaks the way I think it does, this is a rematch of this season's charity tournament final — a final Ace Pools already won. Two teams, both with legitimate championship pedigree this year, and one of them has already beaten the other when the lights were brightest. I don't see history rhyming any differently on Championship Sunday.
